Can't remember exactly what dumb ride you're doing @Full Trucker , but have a good one.

Woken by a fox screeching outside followed by DSO barking at said fox before twoayem...

Barely slept if at all after that, so got up at fivayem. More packing, painting, tree clearing and hopefully a bike ride if I have any energy.

Morning Monkeys.

So day 2 of limited caffeine seems to have resulted in marginally better sleep. I feel pretty rested and I did set my alarm for 4, but I was in bed by 9.

Terrible night of sleep, which makes it what, 3 in a row? I'm too damn tired for this shit.

Woke up intending to do something, but felt too low energy. Womp womp.

Back from my Adirondack trip with my youngest. We camped for two nights at Marcy Dam and managed to summit Mt Marcy. Hot damn is that ever a big mountain. "Only" 10 miles but so. Much. Vert. Coming down is the hardest part. Climbed it two days ago, and I can still barely walk.

The boy is very proud of himself for persevering to the top (and I am too). The high peaks area is such a beautiful place

Aye duh hoe false is not the epicenter of intelligence.

Hotel has a great breffest tho

Waiting around a bit then picking up a rental car and heading out to the ranger station to build the sling load for the heli flight Monday. Also getting groceries and flash freezing them for the pack trip in.

Figured you have access to helicopters, but you have a flash freezer ?

When I close my eyes all I can hear is my tires slapping some giant slabs of granite.

Thank the good lord I faced my bottom bracket shell a few weeks ago.

Gonna try and sneak out tonight with a homie and get sendy on the jank... theres a ledge to muscle up on the run in - no speed possible unless I can high speed huck up it.

And my hip/back spasms started up today. I tried doing a bit of exercise Saturday to ease back into a routine after two weeks of travel, and that seems to have triggered it. So, while it is in the early phase of the spasm, I’m expecting weeks of pain and mobility issues, as is SOP.

…one of the things I did that probably triggered this was a short session on the gym bike. Cycling movements (other than recumbent) seems to be a recurring theme, so I might break down and finally sell my remaining bike and rack. I haven’t ridden since Covid lockdowns were in place. I need to admit where I am and not continue to enshrine my failed dreams in my hall closet.
