it comes it at around 39-40lbs, which is pretty good considering yeti frames are quite heavy, am currently saving for a 303, m3, or sunday frame set, dunno which one to get, swayed towards a 303 with dh40's!!

i've just been doing a little research on Hopey Steering Dampers, from ppl with experience , do you think i will benefit from this, most of the courses round my way are really rocky, but are very techy at the same time, will it cope well with the all the tight turns i will have to put it through?
cheers

There is no way that bike can weight 39-40lbs. I have the same with a Slider+ and tubeless and it weights 44-45lbs. Granted I have 729s and profiles WITH A TI SPINDLE. But the Slider saves almost a pound over the Dorado and the diff in the rims and cranks MIGHT be a pound. Where else did you loose 2-3 lbs. I'd like to do the same to mine.

Profro,

- 729's are about 100 grams (each) heavier than 823's
- If you're running DH tubes you could drop about 300g's off each wheel by going tubeless with 823's.
- Are you running the SDG seat/post combo? That's a bit of weight.
- The thick Yeti decals probably weigh 100g's
- Paint probably weighs over 100g's but I have no idea how much.
- He will save a bit of weight running the Saint's compared to your Profiles (but not all that much)

If you start gram counting it adds up.

4 lbs is 1800 grams. That's 18 100g's and I just don't see it.

Like I said I'm running tubeless and I have a Ti spindle in my Profiles. I'm a pound up on him with the Slider+, I just will have to see it to believe it. I'm running a bolt instead of a seat quick release. I've got a Thompson seatpost (all 5" of it) and a Ti Flite saddle. Does anyone know the diff in Hope 6s and Hayes Mags?

I'd imagine the Hope 6's and Hayes mags are about the same since the M4's w/8" rotor are as light as hayes with 6" rotors...

sounds like a sick set-up ya got dex!

how are those single-ply tires for DH though? i've always trashed the thought of single-plys being wwaaayyy to easy to pinch flat, but then again-i've never used any.

olie - VERY nice yeti! probably one of the nicest i've ever seen. i think it's the color and decals that set it off....

bolts i got from racebolts.com, ti spindles got outta some bpi deal that my old shop had.
dont ask about the ti slider spring its confidential

the single plys rocked just keep the pressure up. they were race run only tires but on certain trails around home and here i run them. feels like they roll 2x as fast a 2.5

wait till you guys see the 3 new bikes brewing in my room just need frams, and cranks, stems, bars and one chain guide

have you been up to ft.bill before? absolutely no need for a steering damper (in my opinion of course)

oh and profro, what are cullys like, i am thinking of investing in some, anything u can compare them to, like azonic x pedals?
olie
The only other flats I've ridden at Azonic A-frames and I like the Cully's better. The pins are smaller and seem to grip better. But go to a bolt store and invest in a box (100) of set screws to replace them as the break off. They don't break that often but the pins are rarer than those in the A-frames, so its nice to have an ample supply.
