It might be cheaper to buy the frame and build it yourself with your chosen parts. I know it was cheaper from my friend to build his 223 with parts than to buy the full one and to be honest the parts he chose were better. It would definitely be cheaper if you're in the US since here we get ripped off badly on taxes and such.

That's a big jump in money but the spec is better. What about building your own frame or just upgrading the Race?

thanks for your help
also that was $2000 Australian Dollars
so it'll be around just over half that in US dollars.

From experience, I've found its hell more expensive to build up
a frame than buying a complete.

the diffrence in parts is about equal to 1000 USD but it's not the best spec for DH. espicaly the crank/guide/brakes/stem/HB/seatpost. and the paint job is to british even for someone in AUS.

i'm not sure if you can get the GBR the british stickers
i thought it was optional.
i was looking at just getting a frame with the standard sticker kit
i am looking at replacing the seatpost with a Thomson,
the stem with a SIC direct mount boxxer stem and the
bars with Protapers no matter which 224 i get
and later down the track a pair of shimano XT or Saint cranks
instead of the boat anchor Diablous cranks
and then later on again a set of Saint brakes

Transcend,
that is one sick bike, i love the Orange
that is so.........sweet........
i love the spec also,
looks like some shimano happening there
which i also like
cheers

yo are kidding about the parts spec not being good for DH right? raceface diabalous crank, mrp guide, hope m4 brakes, and raceface diabalous stem, bar, and post? right.... that stuff totally is no good for DH

the upgrade to an air boxxer, hope brakes, dhx, and XO stuff are the big differences between these 2 options. is it worth the extra cash? that is up to you. my personal bike is pretty much the same spec as the GBR (but the frame is bright orange), and can say the upgraded components are very very nice.

and the GBR graphics are just a sticker kit, you can remove them and get normal 224 decals from orange if you like

Jungle,

Just buy the bloody thing and be done with it!!

A post everyday about a 224 vs sunday is getting boring dude.

If you are finding it that hard to decide which bike you want then just keep the sunday you have because you sound very confused about upgrading. Don't waste the money if your not 100% keen on it. Sounds like you being sweet talked into seperating from your money by your bike shop.
