As it sits here.
I'm hoping that after pedals, and maybe another tweak or two, it'll stay under 14lbs. Not bad for a 58cm frame...this was a leftover team frame, it says "Paris-Roubaix Special Edition," but it's not. The PR bikes had longer stays and forks, and cutouts for wider tires, this one is a standard "Team Sprint" layup, no special geo, which is why I have it. Our normal F1 Sprint frames were about 1,200g, but the team ones wound up about 1,000g for the same size, due to some special layup tweaks.
Another neat feature is the team bikes have forks with alloy dropouts and no lawyer tabs. The team bikes get wheels swapped all the time, they're racked, etc, so for safety and no worries they get alloy dropouts. The downtube cable guides are just guides too, no barrel adjusters are found here.
Had planned on putting full 7900 on there, but I kind of fell into an amazing Enduro ceramic BB, probably the most amazing BB I've come across. When it was installed, the cranks would just spin for days, it was like an old-school Campy square taper BB. Just incredible. So I couldn't pass that up, and put my Vumas on there. I had planned on matting them out, they're gloss now and matte clearcoat would look better with the frame, but I was getting impatient to get it done. Maybe next week after the holiday I'll bust out the scotchbrite.
Scored some team issue 3T stuff with blue stripes too, Team stem and an Ergonova Team bar round out the cockpit.
Sorry for the super-long post, I've just had this f'ing thing in process for like 3 months, and now it's finally done and I'm stoked.
I'm thinking I'm going to clear out the garage a bit, it's getting a bit over the top lately. So either I'm done with new bike posts for a while, or all the room in the garage will make me go on a spree.
