I'm looking for a fork to go on my 2010 Giant Reign.
I really want to stick with an air spring and 150mm travel.
Easy enough, the hard part is trying to find a fork that also offers a travel adjust option(even bumping down to 130 would be enough) as well as a 20mm through axle.
I'd really like 36mm stanchions as well.

I think the only fork I've come across that fits this is the older like '05ish 36 Talas forks.

I'd love a Lyric 2 Step but I want to have 150mm as my max.
Even a current Talas would be great... if I could stop the travel at 150.
Can anyone make any recommendations?

As of right now the only thing that I can find that fits my criteria the closest(80%) is the 2011 Revelation RLT Ti 2 position air.

I'm running a 32mm stanchion, fixed travel, 15mm TA fork now and while I have no complaints on day to day trail rides, there are many times where I find I'd like something noticeably stiffer.

is the extra 10mm of travel on the Fox 36 Talas 160 a deal breaker? I run that fork and I love it.

I believe you can internally drop the travel on the Fox air forks - at least I know you can on the Fox 36 Float -- pretty sure you can internally drop the talas too.

It may only be 10mm of travel but it's a difference of +24mm in axle to crown height. This changes the overall geometry to almost a degree slacker head angle and the bottom bracket by something like 1/4".
The current geometry works great for me.

I've already got my stem slammed and flush headset and I really don't want the bars any taller.

I'm not aware of any 150mm adjustible travle forks with a 20mm thru. You could get a Fox 36 Float 160 and internally adjust it down to 150, but you don't get the "on the fly" adjustment like the Talas.

Another option is the Magura Thor - also not quite what you are looking for though (140mm adjustible to 100mm) - it does have a 20mm thru.

how can a 160mm fox 36 have a 24mm longer axle to crown then a 150mm fox 36???????????? Due to the extra 10mm's of travel being the only difference I say there is a 10mm difference in axle to crown length.

Fox 32 150: 521mm
Fox 36 160: 545.5mm

I'm sure that some of it has to do with using a different crown.

The 2011 Revelation is the only adjustable travel 150mm fork I've found that uses a 20mm axle... however it uses 32mm stanchions.

The 2011 36 Float dropped to 150mm would be acceptable, but only available in white.
The 2011 Lyrik really only fits my desires in a coil version(solo air is white only) I suppose I could live with the weight of a coil. I plan on racing Super-D's next year so I'm trying to really watch the weight.
A dropped 2011 Totem RC2DH SoloAir(galvanized) would work I suppose but... might just be too much.

i know you want that extra 10mm, but 140, 120, 100
Aren't the HLR's and all the X-Fusions internally adjustable only?
Further more the Vengence has an even taller crown than a 160 36, I think a difference of 10mm.

I need to find a good deal on a used Marzocchi 55 ATA Micro Ti. It fits my needs exactly.
Chainreaction has them for a reasonable price.

There are no longer an ATA 55 forks for 2011 right? If I recall correctly 2009 was the last year of the ATA in the 55 series. The 2011 Micro Ti looks good but I see nothing about a travel adjust.

Is that an '05 or something similar? The downside to that fork is that it dives pretty bad. I used to have one. Even the RC2 version I had during braking mostely, not so much in corners. The new Fit cartridges don't fit the older forks.
Apparently there is no Push service for an "R" damper either..
Just for ****s and giggles.. what do you want for it? Brown?

its a 2006 and is brown(ish)
i never really had a problem with dive before, maybe its because i have the pressure pretty high in there. i raced DH on it for a few races and had no real complaints on it besides that it was a bit short for the bike i had it on (Uzzi VPX)
its on my hardtail now set in the lowest position and its totally overkill on there, but its the only single crown fork i had at the time.

i was happy to see Push doing work on Talas forks, but bummed when i saw they dont do work on the R models

$300. perfect condition.
