I'm older then both of you. Chicago Bars is what I've called it for damm near 30 years...

No idea where the name comes from.

Someone told me the expression came from when kids riding round hustling on their bmx bikes would roll the bars forward to make it easier to sit and pedal. Apparently kids in chicago were particularly keen on doing this...

I doubt this is true but it does make sense, kind of

Yup - i've always liked chicagoed bars - probaly cos i'm super tall & need all the breathing space i can get!

Definately gonna add some brakes soon for some proper off-road action, but just enjoying riding it like a giant bmx at the mo, been brakeless on 20's for sooo long i'm finding it hard to bring myself to put 'em on!

UPDATE:

New bars, stem, grips & tyres. Just need some bombproof wheels now......any suggestions? I'm thinking of getting a 48H Halo SAS rear wheel......any good?
