They were leant to engineers for trek so they could ride them and test them.

Nope, definitely saw 2 of them with Honda written on the gearbox.The forks appeared to be Showa as well but with they peeled off the decals...
I never understood why people made this claim in the first place.
Why would Honda destroy their own R&D/engineering/manufacturing when they could just hold onto it?

I'm about as interested in the gearbox's as I am in Harry Potter, but I'd give both my nuts to have a go on the Showa fork and shock.... especially on the Session. I'm sure it's just a little moto fork but I would love to see what is going on in there.
