I just bought a 2000 Z1 QR20 off of mr dbr and i have a 7" avid mech on the front and just tried to mount it all up and the brake barely goes over the rotor and doesnt move over anymore so i can't center it over the rotor and such. Does it have the wrong disk brake adapter on the fork?

Yep - spacers

I am running a 6" hayes on a 2003 Z1 with spacers and everything lines up just right.

I've got a handfull of thin washers between the disc tabs and the adaptor. It cost me all of $0.20 rather than 10x that amount for a new adaptor.

Yeah, spacers work. Just be sure to space out the caliper from the fork and not the disc from the hub.

Thanks it worked never thought id have to use spacers to put my damn brake on. Oh well now i just need some housing and cable and my bike works again for hte first time in 2 months.
