I have really been wanting a SC Heckler. Lately I have been reading the reviews on last years Dakar XLT 2.0 and all have been great. This year for 2 grand plus $200 back to spend in the store I can get the XLT 2.0, at least $1000 less then a new Heckler. The XLT comes with Swinger Air 4 way, Minute 2, Juicy 7 brakes, Holzfellar cranks, Mavic x321 rims, and a XT drivetrain. This seems like a very sweet set up. I have yet to ride one though, I'm still waiting for them to come in. I would appreciate any comments, either positive or negative, regarding the 2004 XLT 2.0 and it's components.

Thanks in advance.

They quit using a horst link on the 2004s. With a swinger, I don't think it would be an issue outside of now braking a little like a single pivot. The old dakars felt like burlier specialized xc bikes, not as supple but stiffer laterally. I liked them. I would assume the 2004s would be comparable, especially with the much better parts spec.
