i know NC cancelled, but didn't realize Snowmass is out too.

Fontana - organized well w/ Southridge...but dumb for a national

Firestone - you've gotta be kidding me. an actual National course worse than Fontucky...

Deer Valley is always a great place... just not enough people specatating. pits are always empty

NY & Idaho.... should be cool seeing new spots... potentially great tracks.... but not holding my breath.

MSC/G3 races should be sweet!!!... their only downfall is that all the races (minus Angelfire) are in Colorado. not that it's a "bad" downfall... but would be great to see that series spread out more. 3 of the events should have UCI points... so it might start attracting more peeps!

Anybody ever been to the Windham Resort?
Windham is located north of Plattekill, New York (about an hour) the terrain is very similar, moist plate rock and rich dark soil. Have not seen the resort in some years but they have a pretty big town compared to most in that area. I heard rumors of the resort getting a facelift but cannot confirm.

You would go all the way to NY if you where in town?...DANG
I'm now talking to Bernie at Trail Head Cycles in Oregon about making all plus the Fluidride series, also Sea Otter and a few other races.

Here is some info about Windham. I spoke to the bike program manager.

-Is a very upscale resort
-Wants to get a world cup style course
-Has TONS of rocks, boulders and slippery roots.
-Really fast high speed quad
-One of the larger resorts on the east coast
-In the early 90's a World Cup was held 10 minutes down the road @ hunter mtn.

Yeah 5 is all, they had a 6th location with Sugar Mountain in Carolina but the mountain canceled it for some reason.
Because the best time for Sugar to host a National would be in the month of May before the town and surrounding towns are utterly booked up by tourists. NORBA wouldn't give them May. The rest of the summer they are almost completely packed with tourists and riders would have no place to stay.

Catch 22...no teams would want to drive from Cali to NC to do a Nat that time of year...but yet everyone who races would love to do a National on a big mountain in spring weather to shake off the cobwebs.

Correction the big mountains are out west...............you know like Sonoma, Fontucky, Firestone, Laguna Seca, and bikes like the Socom and Demo 7 are DH bikes.
