We have the Meta 6 in 4 sizes for those that need the proper sizing for pedaling efficiency.

The Supreme and Supreme DH will stay at 2 sizes.
The Supreme is also available in 24" version for smaller people and kids, not to many companies doing this now are there

As for the aluminum, hmm not sure what you mean, we have not had a single failure in the mini DH in Canada. As for heavy, thats weird too, our bikes are average or lighter than most....

The 07 Meta 4x i had for 3 months last summer was lovely, but too long for my 161cm (about 5'2"), even with a 35mm stem, and I couldn't get enough pressure on the front wheel nor lift the bike prepperly in some situations.

And yes, heavy. 3,5kg is a ****load for a 4xer.. The Yeti's 2,7kg (?) might be/is crazy light, but I do expect a bike of that sort to be around 3kg. Still, my frame got a crack on the toptube just where the shock attaches. No huckflippin or nothing to blame for that eather.

One of my best friends 06 Supreme 6 also cracked after not to many months of use. No huckflipper there eather.

I know of a third guy who's 07 Meta 4x got a crack in the same spot as mine. He's one helluva huckflipper so I don't hold that crack against Commencal.

Still, two cracks on two frames that were less than one year old, and I haven't even checked around or asked the distributor on how many others there been. I don't think I have to check with them for my complaint to be legit enough (considering on how these frames were ridden and that my information is from first hand), or maybe I do?

As far as my input, I'm not selling anything of any brand and I have personal experiance, thank you.

Solved that problem; CrissCrossed baggy jeans baby!
No 24" for me though, don't wan't the disadvantage of smaller wheels in rough terrain. I just got a Specialized SX (their 4,2" 4x frame) which has 6mm shorter CS and 3-4mm shorter TT than the Meta 4x, hope that will do the trick (once my bloody knee heal..).

I'm in Sweden and both of us got the frames replaced but sold them after that. Really hope you're right about it being bad luck and coincidence for me and my friend, we both loved the overall feel, contact system, and the ability to get them really slack. It will take more to scare me away, and the Meta 6 for next year could be nice if the cups from the Supreme fit for an even slacker HA. Do they?

Actually i live in germany and ride a cove shocker, which i bought to ride whistler during my last holiday.
But for allday-riding this sled is way to much. So probably i'm looking for a tough enduro with downhill-geometry and this seems to be very close to my description.

- What dropout will be on the rearend? 135x12mm, 135x9mm or 150x12mm??
- Is the headangle still adjustable like it is on the "old" commencal mini dh with those cups? Still 1/1/8'' headtube?
- Are there differrent shock position to adjust seat angle/bb-height or is it possible to use two shocks with different eye-to-eye-length?
- When will it be approximately available? Can i buy the frame only/frameset or just a complete bike?

I although checked out the giant reign x, but the commencal supreme seems to be more lively (which is what i'm looking for) compared to the reign x.... what do you think?

1. as with most dual suspension commencals you have extra dropout inserts to allow 135mmx10 AND 135x12
2. yes it will have the patented adjustable headangle with 2 sleeves and 3 positions
3. no different shock positions, Commencal feels changing your shock position is too detrimental to the bikes performance, everytime you move that shock, you change how the suspension works.
4. every bike from Commencal is available frame only

i'm not sure the reign x and supreme are a good comparison, they are bikes for different applications

The swingarm is the same as the rest of the Meta range, the front triangle is similar with the inclusion of the Supreme adjustable head angle sleeve (except on the XL 666, the head tube was too long for it!) but the linkages are bigger, to get the extra travel out back. The bike also sits a little higher than the Meta5.

Do you think this is ok or should i use a shorter crankset so i don't hit rocks to often? (does anyone know the bb height for this frame, no matter 07/08 or 09 mini dh) I want to ride local trails, winterberg bikepark and next year megavalanche in pds.

yes it will be 73/68

i'd recommend shorter, none of the complete bikes come with anything other than 170mm

Hey Knorke,

Depending on the country, the Supreme exists in several options:

1) Frame only
2) Frame & shock with E13 LG1, Thomson seatpost, Maxle axle, seat clamp
3) Like n°2 but with Thomson stem, headset, Fox fork

If your interested, check in with the guys at Shock Therapy (Shock-Therapy@T-Online.de), they'll be able to let you know what they're bringing in fro the German market.

I LOVE my 2009 Supreme! It is my favorite bike ever. I have my lg/xl built w/ more of a mini-dh kit - 36 Float, single ring w/ lg-1, Sun Str8 Track wheeleset/maxle, etc - and it weighs right around 34 lbs. Admittedly, I've never pedalled it up any significant mountains (used it for park riding/shuttle duty), but I think it would be great for am type stuff.

This bike is just FUN! I love the suspension action and like all Commencals w/ the contact system, I love the way it turns. And I know what the numbers are on paper, but with a 36 float on mine and the head sleeve in the slack position, I measured my head angle at 65 degrees. It's low, slack, and a blast to ride.

so would you guys agree that this is commencal's version of the Nomad, Reign X type of bike? 6" bike that you can send it on but yet ride your way back up?

I think this bike compares more with an Intense SS or Specialized SX. The Meta 6 is more like a Nomad (I had an 07 Nomad). On my Meta 6 (31 lb.) I had an rp23 with lockout, I suppose you could try an rp23 on the Supreme to make it more all mountain. Even though I am not a big dhx 5.0 fan I would guess the coil shock contributes to suspension action that is much better than the Meta 6. My Supreme weighs in at 33 pounds. Surprising, as the frame/coil shock didn't feel light at all, however the build is quite light.
I have a Meta 4x also, that I end up riding all the time (xc, 4x, DH, DJ), and it is so much fun. But on DH trails or shuttle runs it can get overwhelmed, so I chose the Supreme as a similar, fun bike with a bit more capability.
