My measurement of the upper/lower cups is 44mm, like the 2012. So are there headsets to accommodate a tapered steerer? Anyone know? Thanks

yea, you need an EC44 lower cup. Chris king calls it the Model 7 tapered headset. here is the Cane Creek part number i used to setup my old STP to tapered.
