2021 fox float x2??? Thoughts on it...

The rear even with 241lbs left 1/2" travel on shaft unused....which would have made a little smoother landing...
I did set it up like fox recommended and adjusted from there ...high speed rebound almost all the way on..it did decent , alot better than before but I know im fighting the curve...

I'm looking at the one.2 canfield as an option mainly cause I loved my "one"...the 951 evo as well.....but I want small initial ramp and them level out ..get pedaling and still respond mid stroke to chatter.
I will dial th 951 in first though, it has some pretty solid attributes and yes it has a ramp up...

But worth trying to dial it in since I have it already..

Helmet?
Is that shock actually a 2021?
Looks like a <2020
Yes its a 2021 verified it as well..
Yeah we spotted it and knew i needed a drop to dial the bottom out in.....my son was wearing his lol...
I saw it he was hesitant so I pulled a full pedal in and showed him a few times that body position helps with blow through and maintaing speed...

When the 951 came out its signature trait was a very progressive (for the time?) suspension. I'm curious how it feels compared to modern bikes. When my 2018 Capra came out it was also noted for being very progressive. I couldn't get full travel with a DPX shock but it was amazing with a coil DHX2.
I'll look up the capra...I'm open to looking around there was such a difference that I defaulted to my era..
This is good to know I may slap the ccdb on the 951 (didn't like the fox rc4 on it) and throw the x2 on the m9

Oh thought it was old style looking at the back.
Also was expecting to see the climb lever but that's deleted on long stroke models.

Good I think the 2020 and older are kind of a shit box

Yeah buddy hooked me up with it ..

What I'm not a fan of is at damn near 300 psi I have to have hi speed rebound almost completely on.....I will say the landings were alot smoother than I anticipated...once I remember that on hard landings use legs to keep seat out of my ass...lol

I don't know if its the curve of the 951 leverage I don't like deep in stroke but I need to fugire out a span of use for tuning and gear it towards the strengths of that curve...on rock piles and chutes its super easy to get on top and lip the bigger stiff to just gap a bunch of junk or switch lines mid rock garden...so there are some advantages for sure...

If you have any more tips etc...I'll be playing with it more and I'm always open to suggestions and ideas..!!

Also I need to quit comparing it to my big bikes and my m9...love the way big bikes ride with my style and weight..the m9 rips on 27.5 wheels and it is so much fun....but jumping suffers a bit lol

How many air can spacers do you have in the new X2? The 951 would probably benefit from zero spacers to avoid increasing the impressive ramp up.
There is a lot of room to shim those however you want and at 240 you probably need all the shims.

Yeah zero spacers and moar shimz starting on the rebound side is probably a good plan.

He could also preload the fuck out of the hsr tongues too if twidling the knob is not needed? Do you think the rebound ports could be too big? I have done a few rebound stacks and I wonder....
I wonder if you could also throw an extra hsr adjuster leaf on.

I think I need to run less psi sit lower in travel and see if I can get the last 1/2" of shaft. I slammed hard flat landings to see if I could get it and there's around 1/2" unused...

Maybe just put ccdb back on 951 and throw x2 on m9????

The 951 rides more DH plow style with the ccdb for sure i wanted more pop...mayne progressive setting lighter rebound and more high speed low speed comp????

Ok session up at SC jump line...did well on booters and step downs but PACKED UP way too much on stutter bumps so bad I couldn't see straight.had a hell of a time braking and making corner.......I'll adjust slow speed a smidge and if this doesn't do it...back to the ccdb ...

Didn't do alot a few gaps, step downs some small ladders etc...jumps and a bunch of nasty blown out berms....but it was better than not riding...

Ok!!!! (Thinking outloud but here's thoughts)
Putting float X2 on the m9 based on its curve????

Figured I'd ask input before I start, or if it's gonna be pissing in the wind then I would like to know those thoughts ahead of time...

Slept on it last night and frankly tweaking with it is fine for the most part, but I want to ride and just go....I have it close to being a decent split between jumps, drops and rock chutes (this it lacks if set up more for hits and jumps)..But think there's gonna be a compromise with psi, my weight, the 951 leverage .
I think it will be decent at the 3 (terrain) but leave to big a void in all 3......i prefer a jack of all trades thats a better jack of em....won't be perfect for 1 but encompass a variety and do it better...

Should work better on the M9 than the 951. It has a progressive leverage curve that's pretty linear/straight and progression isn't super high - https://linkagedesign.blogspot.com/2010/05/intense-m9-prototype-2011.html.

So, after a few hundred miles on my '21 X2 performance, i have to say i dont really miss all of the adjustments of the factory. I think I got really lucky, it feels amazing right out of the gates.

What bike?

Is the performance bike specific tuned??
For a specific curve and stack it wod be nice to bolt and go

I needed adjustments to try and dial it...but I like the simplicity of yours..thats great amd glad it worked..huge bomus
I think the curve and my needed psi play a role in it not in a good way...I love the adjustments though and they do work well on x2....I am impressed I just think on a better curve it will be ALOT better...fingers crossed...I'm ready to just ride...

Fox float x2will not fit on a m9 even with frame gusset mod...you'd still have to grind part of a link...

Reservoir hangs off to side and won't allow top mounted reservoir...you can flip it adjusters near tire but then getting to the controls will be harder and covered in shit...forget about a 27.5 rear tire...

So as long as reservoir is off set to side it will not work...
