Anyone have any idea if you can fit a 27.5 wheel w/ a 2.5ish tire under the brake arch of an older fox 40, from the model years where you could internally reduce travel down to 6"?

Fits no issue on my 888 and gets me a lower AC than an equivalent SC, that's for sure. 888 has old go-ride aftermarket flat crowns tho.

Whichever offered the travel reduction. Wanted to check the height and weight against the 888.

Probably get a single crown to try first, was just curious. (Actually have a selection I can try...just need different headset...)

i have an 08 40 that's adjustable down to 6", and it looks like there's ample clearance for a bigger wheel (i'll actually be testing that sometime this winter).

I have 26" lowers,
DHF 2.5 fit, rode that way for 3 years.
Assagai 2.5, fit but i was afraid to ride it, i had to put the fork in the mill and take a sweep with a boring bar to get a safe clearance.
NO NEED TO REDUCE TRAVEL unless your headtube is 6ft tall

Well, trying to use on a trail-ish bike needing about a 540-550mm a-c distance...I doubt I'd get that at 180-200mm travel, right?

I was under the impression that 2011-2015 26" models were compatible, but maybe @Udi would know better. I've thought a little about this recently, but then I realized I don't ride enough to worry about it....
