27.5 on an old Fox 40?

which era 40 are you looking at? i'm not sure the first gen ones do, but i probably wouldn't recommend one of those anyways
Whichever offered the travel reduction. Wanted to check the height and weight against the 888.
Probably get a single crown to try first, was just curious. (Actually have a selection I can try...just need different headset...)

i have an 08 40 that's adjustable down to 6", and it looks like there's ample clearance for a bigger wheel (i'll actually be testing that sometime this winter).
I’ve got a 2012 or maybe 2013 (forgot) Fox 40 for 26” wheels and have had no issues running 27.5 wheels on them the past few years.
I have 26" lowers,
DHF 2.5 fit, rode that way for 3 years.
Assagai 2.5, fit but i was afraid to ride it, i had to put the fork in the mill and take a sweep with a boring bar to get a safe clearance.
NO NEED TO REDUCE TRAVEL unless your headtube is 6ft tall

Not sure about the a2c
I've had 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2018 all setup for 29" even didnnew decals...
How did you fit a 29 in w 2011? Isn't that a 26?
Your right it was 27.5 on the 2011 I ran, good catch I clumped it up with them...
I am 1 size up on all of em..
Only fork I have ran with an issue of upsizing is a 3017-2020 fox 36 chasis that is 27.5 only, the 27.5+ works fine
Be careful with the clearance. Might be a no go for a fender.
I know 27.5 will fit earlier 40s. I had a dhf, Assegai and a 2.35 Mary on em...there was 4 to 5mm clearance Min on one of the tires
