Hey, I was browsing eBay, and came across these two interesting items. They claim to eliminate the chain from dropping, while allowing you to keep your 3x9 or 2x9 setup.

Heim 3 guide: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/13497-075_HEI3G4-3-Parts-382-Chain-Guides/Tensioners/Heim-3-Ring-Chain-Guide.htm

Rockwerks Double Trouble guide: http://cgi.ebay.com/Double-Trouble-Double-Chainring-Chain-Guide-ISCG_W0QQitemZ290130911476QQihZ019QQcategoryZ42317QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Does anyone have any experience with either of these guides? Do they also eliminate or at least decrease occurrence of chain suck? Would they work with an external bottom bracket crankset, like my Saints?

Jeeze I have a lot of Q's.. :twitch: sorry for my being a newb

Well if you want a reliable and tested 2 ring setup, I'd encourage you to stick to widely used ones like the MRP LRP (Long Range Patrol) or the e.13 Components DRS (Dual Ring Security), I also am pretty sure that Blackspire has a two-ring system. As for the 3-ring systems, I have never setup a 3-ring guide on any bike....rock rings, yes; guides, no.

So far as chain suck, anything that increases tension on the chain (assuming that the chain line is correct), generally improves shifting performance, and reduces chain suck. This isn't always true however, as the reasons for chain suck can vary.....have a mechanic look at your bike to tell you whether or not a more tensioned chain would improve your chain suck problems.
