You just opened up the biggest can of worms there :nope: That poor guy is gonna get flooded with emails...

But they do look sweet. I agree, I hate using normal shoes for riding as I tear them up. I'm guessing they will be between $80-100 (as most shoes are) but I believe you can resole stealth rubber shoes? Which makes them a good deal all ways around.

Good pics, they look sweet

actually the entire tongue is mesh. and the upper half of the ankle is all mesh. They weigh a lot less than a light hiker and are not much heavier than a basketball high top. The " = " on the side is something of a pad. Honestly, I would have to say this is the only pair of shoes I've gotten out of the box and just said "Oh, now I understand the hype" .

Even if you're loyal to your current shoe and don't think you need them, pick up a pair in a bike shop and check them out. I would think they leave a pretty solid impression on you the first time around.

Imagine you are a guy who has always rock climbed with a set of old sneakers that you love and then one day you are given a set of actual sticky rubber climbing shoes...that is what I would equate to my first impression.

They used to have "Intense" written on them (the old ones that is). Everyone knows that Intenses are made for going fast, thus these will make you go fast. They are NOT FOR FREERIDING or skiing in.

really soft rubber in the sole makes them stick to pedals, or so i hear. i only had the 5-10 something-or-other model (the dirty ones that butch posted later in the thread) which didn't stick all that great, but also didn't have the "real" stealth rubber sole of the intense model.

Does anyone actually think these look sweet or are you guys just pumped there back on the market? Personally they look like butt ugly space boots to me but the performance is no doubt worth it. What about the low top version? Are those in the works? I think the low tops are way stiffer, pedal better and they dont have brake jack so Im hoping I can pick up a pair.

ya I definatly want a pair of these..I think I like the hightops. will these hightops provide any real increased support to twisting your ankle or is it more just for padding around the ankle bones?

Yeah, hi tops all the way. They do give some support, not just padding to prevent getting hit by rocks and other crap or protect your ankle from hitting your bike (but they do that too). If you ride with low tops and have never tried hi tops, give it a shot - to me it's a big difference, much less likely to hyper-extend or twist an ankle, especially landing jumps and drops, adn you don't need separate ankle guards like a lot of people use.

The rubber is pretty amazing stuff, it just sticks to pedals really well but doesn't seem to wear out that fast, i.e., it's sticky but not too soft.

ok good thats what I want to hear. I ride in Audio skate shoes right now and my buddy in etnies. there is a big hip jump we've been hittin and just landing it weird sometimes really messes up the ankles, just stuff like that and hard landings that sometimes twist things. also have the occasional impact with a crank arm to the ankle bone which isn't cool. Looks like I'm definatly inline for a set of these in hightop.

Hightops make people feel more secure, the same way skydivers wear helmets.
They really don't do anything except make your ankles sweat.
But yeah, they gave you an all black shoe, in two cuts, to go out
and get as filthy as you want. Sounds like a good plan to me.
I want the low tops for sure.

well, look at this photo of last week's race in Australia. Rennie is sporting a set of the low tops...and Kovarik is sporting a set of the mid-tops. Now if you're a top ranked sponsored pro DH racer who can wear and afford whatever brand of shoes you feel like...why would you be wearing a 2 year old pair of shoes??? :sneaky:
