Ok,

so it goes like this. I recently purchased a brand new VP free. I was building it up yesterday, and decided to check out how nice and plush it was. Little did I know that out of the factory, the minimum 60 psi is not put into the shock chamber, so after compressing the shock twice, the rebound dampening literally stopped working. No matter how much rebound I dial in now, with 120 psi in the chamber, the dampening is not changed at all, and the shock topps out severely. Can anyone please help me? It sounds like I will need a rebuild, but is there some other way to fix this?

Hugh - Sounds like you have air in your damper circuit. It was probably there before you even bought the frame - it probably has nothing to do with the fact that the shock was compressed with not enough air in it. Same thing happened to me. Time for a rebuild!

You might be able to swing it as a warranty issue. Talk to the place you bought it from.
