Of course. Look at your thread count. You're obviously a newbie and have much to learn.

Dam luc, isn't that the second time now? amazing
it's a conspiracy!! The e-equestrians are after me – they are fighting hard to band broadband freeriding!!

despite the fact that my 888 lowers broke after a usual DH crash and the people at marzocchi were not very helpfull to say the least (sorry but can't help with the little rant against Marzocchi CS), i decided to give it a second chance.
when i got the fork it worked perfect for me (165lbs), the only issue i had was the brake dive; so after go-ride helped me to get the lowers overnight i also ordered from them the LS compression sleeve and set the fork as scott advices in his article (210ml of oil in each leg, preload clip in the mid position, and the sleeve covering 3 of the 5 holes and maxima 7wt fork oil-no golden spectro in this part of the globe).

now the fork feels more progressive and i no longer feel the brake dive the bike feels more balanced between front/rear travel. i can feel it ramps up after the first 3" of travel (before it was after the first 4 or 5"), but i'm not getting full travel and i feel a little spike on fast, edged hits. obviously i'm lighter than scott, so i'm going to play a little more with the oil hight first by lowering the oil height in 5mm decrements and if not satisfied then i'll play a little more with the LS comp sleeve

I changed my LC adjuster to show 4 holes, revived some of the plushness I felt lost when only 2 holes were exposed.

I don't know for sure but I'd be willing to bet the stock springs for the 170 fork that you have are a little stiffer than the 200mm ones just because they have less travel to go through for the same type of terrain. .
Yeah, My teammate has the 200mm 888 and just from pushing down on it, it uses alot more travel than mine, and it feels softer.
But I agree with you, how stiff this fork is and how it stays glued to the ground is just incredible. If I can keep my bar height where it is now, I'll get the 8 inch version for next year. :thumb:

hey brian.... what about the brake dive with the 4 holes exposed ?? it is still significant ??

also let me know if you had to file a little the small tabs of the sleeve that go over the grooves of the cartridge in order to sit it perfectly.

Its not bad with 4 exposed, I was riding with a sore wrist and elbow so I was having trouble comming into corners at speed, however it didn't seem too bad, after the oil change the fork seemed much plusher over the smaller bumps which I was not getting before. No mods needed, some fit a little tighter than others but I was able to push mine down no prob, if you're having trouble try lubeing it first with fork oil.

My buddy had the same problem. He just used a box cutter razor and shaved a bur off. .
