Might go watch Lil Man play more basketball since the wife doesn't work today. It says the tournament is all day but the only game he is listed on is at 1:00, so who knows. Somebody is making so money off this thing. It's like $300 for each kid to play and then it was $10 to get into the first tournament, yesterday it was $12. There were a few folding chairs along one wall, but not nearly enough for everyone. I watched the 2nd quarter from the doorway, then moved to sit on the floor in the corner. He played like 8 minutes and they lost 40-18. It was way worse at the half.

I feel bad because he is the smallest dude out there. His dad had the same issue as I did. I didn't grow until the summer before freshman year. I was 5'8" in 8th grade, I was 6'1" freshman year and finished at 6'4", Bman is 6'5" and I bet Lil Man tops out at at least 6', but for now he's the runt.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
My co-worker might be one of the most unintelligent people I know. Big music festival this weekend for their kids. Didn't have the permission slips collected, some kids didn't even have printed music (he's had these items since 11/4) and his excuse was that he was busy over Christmas break playing organ at church and then his girlfriend's cat was sick and died. ALL of these things should have been done in the beginning of NOVEMBER! Then, he wasn't even sure if he could go (Thursday he told us this) because he might have military duty (he's in the army reserve band). Needless to say my amazing colleague and I got everything sorted and went with him (he did get emergency release from band rehearsal) and the festival went pretty well. To top it off, on Friday, the were an hour late for rehearsal due to bussing AND got dropped off at the wrong school. Saturday they were 15 minutes late and got dropped off at the wrong building again! You can't make this shit up!

Fantastic day of skiing yesterday, I should probably do that again soon. Slept like the dead last night. Need to pack I suppose. Going to Pittsburgh for a week for training on how to make more machines go ping.

Well fuck, think I broke the little bastard. It’s turning 3 shades of purple and hurts like a mother.

Get a cast boot and some sports tape. The weird looking gimp sandal will take the pressure off when you walk. Tape the broken toe to the one next to it. This was the treatment I received from an ER visit and have used to heal a few more broken toes over the years.

Ride done. Around freezing temps, so "dry" conditions for a change. Only downside is that I cannot feel my large toes anymore...:(
Apparently the estate is building new singletrail on the "North" track after they have closed the "South" track end of last year. So far looks promising and is fun, but I am sure they will f*** it up with berms and gravel soon.

Just checked in for my flight. United is already looking for volunteers. I might see if I can hunt down an agent I know here tomorrow morning and see if I can squeeze some really nice voucher seats to somewhere in yurp.
Flying from Seattle to Pittsburgh is an exercise in contrast. Tiny airport at 500% capacity vs huge airport at 5% capacity.

I have no idea where I am
Just took a joy ride in my buddies 1959 Cessna. Luckily he was flying it. I want an airplane now.
A section hiker I got to know a little bit has a small plane. He said it’s about what a giant lifted bro dozer costs and around $10k a year to store, maintain and fly. Drives older cars and lives frugal to save money. Now every time I see one of those trucks I think about Photon and his plane.

I ran a 17 mile race this morning after another night of horrible sleep due to a sick dog. I thought about skipping the race because I didn't want to leave the dog alone, but Wife told me to go run. I averaged a 7:32 pace, which is better than I thought I'd do. Results were manually timed and haven't been posted so I have no idea where I finished in the field. I am feeling pretty damn wiped out now between the running and not sleeping. Tacos tonight should help.
