let me preface this with the statement that i am a very big lagavulin / islay single malt fan. with that out of the way, i was at a very classy bar and had the opportunity to try out lagavulin's 1989 distiller's edition. to put it bluntly, this bottle is why i enjoy scotch to begin with. a very high recommendation and a fairly high price.
