In the bathroom, fighting a battle
For the sake of breivity I'll only list cars I owned, or was i possestion of for more than 30 days

1963 Thunderbird, got it with 25k oeiginal miles, sold to my dad after 2 years and is his current daily driver.
1957 For Fairlane 500, lowered 5+ inches, was carsitting for about a year and the brakes only failed 18 times in traffic, kinda sucked.
1985 Mercedes 190e 2.3 16v had 250,000 miles on it when the odometer broke, and that was 7 years before I got it, I drove it for a little over a year, autocrossed it and rallied it a bunch, then the tranny, motor, and rear diff all took a dump on the same day
1998 Land Rover Discovery, bought it 2.5 years ago with 40k on the clock it now has 105k on it and has been from SoCal to the tip of Baja 4 times and run chase in desert races covering almost 15k just offroad.

The shortest time I've owned a car is 3 hours and the longest is the Rover, that's coming up on 3 years. Not quite sure what my next streetcar will be, but probably something German, mabye a Porsche or a Unimog, I allready have plans in the works for a 1400 class race truck, so that's my next "car"

68 Bug - The Bug O Death
70something Datcun B210 - orange with grey primer spots. I crashed the ****e outta that mutha.

80 datsun 200SX - ghetto is as ghetto does

92ish mitsubishi something or other four door. - died.. towed away

94 Mazda B2000 pickup - the tranny pumped fluid INTO the engine. Eventually all seals went bad and water AND oil AND tranny fluid made it's way into the combustion chamber. The nice thing was that it produced it's own smoke screen. Damn handy for those quick getaways.

67 VW Karmann Ghia. Damn I miss that car. That was the only car I owned where people came up to me and said hello and told me stories about their own KG's. Damn I miss that car.

97 Honda CRV - current car.

holy smokes.. those are some tuff trucks
pics? are they beat up lookin?
The box end of the ford looks beat to sh1t, but the gm only looks a couple years old.

Used the ford to load rocks for a summer. We had rocky fields - like 350+#ers and loaded them in a big pile. Then we sold them to people that wanted yard rocks. The ford had a tailgate that could lock down so rather than backing up to said rock and loading it manually, I'd just back into it at speed and it would load itself! Made for a pretty beat up box..oh well.

Edit: No pics as they're back on the farm thats 800+miles away..

hahah, who has the best cars? who has the worst? My vote goes towards thrillseeka for the best.

my cars:
1976 ferrari dino replica (never got off the ground)
1983 Audi Coupe Quattro (blew a gasket and had to sell. sad)
1987 Mistubishi Starion (bought for 13, sold for 15, pained blue and yellow yeti colors)
1989 Audi 200 TQA (bought for 500, sold for 1000)
1990 Toyota MR2 (biggest POS ever)
1992 Honda Civic (Really solid daily driver)

After looking at that, it really scares me that my first car is my newest, and then I started over and went up through the years from there...

god I miss that quattro...someday...i swear I'll be back...

soon to come; 1982 AMC Eagle with a 390 v8?

Funny how popular this thread is. "Cars will never go away....."--Futurecar

The list:

1968 AMC Javelin--My high school car (1986-1989). If I would have spent the $650.00 on MSFT instead of this POS, it would have turned into ~$8 million 10-12 years later. It was a POS I suppose but it almost got me everywhere I needed to be. One blown freeze plug ended my optimism. The radiator was kept in working order with a wad of "FunTak" and was still holding when I sold it.

1977 Toyota Corolla (white) (1989-1990) It was borrowed but it was mine for a year and my first year at university. If cars could talk.....

1977 Toyota Corolla (green) (1990-2001)...Purchased from the original owner. He was a Boeing Engineer and the car was immaculate. $850.00 and 127K on the clock in 1990. One of the first things I did was T-Bone somebody after returning from solar car racing in Australia. It was "totaled" so I learned how to do body and paint work. A crazy problem with the ball bearing vacuum advance mechanism plagued me for a few years until I figured it out and the leather accelerator pump gave me some hassles in the Bellingham winters but I learned that "Brakleen" works as brake cleaner, carb cleaner, starting fluid and de-icer. Who knew?
I rebuilt the top end and drove it to Fairbanks and back one summer. I gave it to my brother with ~230K and it had a rough life from then on. He gave it back to me in 2000, I sold it in 2001 for $700. It was a sad day.
2 years later it was found abandoned and still in my name. I almost went to the auction to save it but alas, it is gone.

The rest of the list isn't as interesting as I was just playing the field and in need of transport:

1968 AMC AMX (1996-present) [This one is interesting but too long of a story to get into.]
1994 Subaru Justy (1997-1999)..fyi, New Hampshire is a "Buyer Beware" state..

1986 MR2 (1999-2000)...don't throttle lift in hard corners.
2000 Toyota Taco (2000-present) great truck that has served me well.
1986 Miata (2002-2003)...impulse buy. POS.
1986 Honda Civic (2002-2003) great car for $500. training car for the missus on manual tranny before taking delivery of the....
2003 MINI Cooper S (2003-present) Excellent car for the money. A little gutless but she loves it and it'll get 35 mpg on the highway.
