Well yes and no... my frame was inbound for a while, and then finally got here toward the beginning of June. I took my time building it, cleaning parts from my Sunday, checking fitments, etc. so I JUST got her built up last week.

How do you like yours so far?

Im over here now
its been riding great so far. now that i saw the pic of the recommended setup for the RC4, i can see how far off i am from their recommendations. I was adjusting as i feel i needed it, but on the beat up trails in Les Gets, the bike seemed to beat me up a bit. The RC4 is great though...its a ton better than i imagined it to be.
ill do some tweaking this weekend at diablo.

Nice! Les Gets is "Les Sh!t"... :)

Yeah - haven't ridden there yet, but from what I've heard, trails like that will beat on you after a while. Those settings for the RC4 - are you referring to the ones from FOX or the ones suggested by dw? The setting dw suggests are a lot more useful in the context of the Revolt.

I'll be at Diablo this weekend as well - I'll be helping Yuroshek with a rider's clinic. I'll keep an eye peeled for another guy on a Revolt! :)

yeah, i learned from some of the yocals that they dont ride Les Gets because of all the brake bumps on the main trails.

i started with the base settings that the shock came with. i just adjusted the colorful knobs until i was getting in the right direction.

Aw crap... I'm only free on the weekends until the second week in August. Well, I'll see you on Sat. - I'll walk the course with you because I'm curious to see what this new trail Epitaph is all about.

you forgot the most important detail...how much does it weigh?
Haven't weighed it yet, but as soon as I can find an accurate scale, I'll post it up.

The best part of that bike is the stem. Mine is in the mail as we speak, er... type.
The stem is AWESOME. Sexy lookin', super lightweight, and tough. The zero-rise 50mm is perfect. When installing your handlebars, DON'T FORGET: when you tighten the face plate, do it moto-style. Tighten the top 2 bolts first until the faceplate is flush against the stem (no gap) - THEN tighten the bottom 2 bolts. Greg designed the stem like this on purpose. For more info - check out the Straitline blog. Pretty interesting.

Greenhood and Horror - thanks! I have plans for some powder coat action next year, but for now it's "Pro White". BTW, Horror - I dig the avatar!

Crap dudes! Metallica is the cover version of the song! Originally done by Diamond Head!
It is still a classic Metallica performance that he posted and they made the song waaay more popular than Diamond Head, so I stand by my comment.

Jim - good call!

Yep, "Am I Evil?" was originally recorded by Diamond Head, and Metallica did their own version of it. I dig both but find the Metallica version to be heavier.

When I was thinking about posting up my rig, this was the first song that came to my head since owning one means becoming part of the "family" or becoming "EVIL" so to speak...

Messing around with a homemade fender right now which will be used on my rig at Diablo this weekend... If only I had some carbon fiber sheets...

Doesn't hurt to know your history, son. :headbang:
It does not mean I don't know my metal history, and who are you calling son, bra? I did not say it was a Metallica original, I said it was a Metallica classic-which it is.

Let's stop bickering over metal, so we don't take away from the greatness of this bike.

That's a good looking build and very close to how I did mine. I'm sure you'll love it. I've been able to ride about 8 days of Whistler on mine but now I'm gone for 3 weeks of work. Post some riding shots so I can dream.

This will seem pretty stupid but im interested to know why the seat tube was welded off-center to the top of the "shock cage"?

The "shock cage" and shock+linkage etc are offset to the left to allow more room etc on the drive side for chainguides an drive components in general...the giant glory among others also do this:thumb:

Thanks makes sense, I own a giant glory and always wondered why the frame protruded more on the left then on the right. :)

Cliffy and Jim - thanks guys! Glad you like it! I'll be riding this weekend (more of a testing session to get things dialed) so if Tufino is out and about, I should have some pretty good pics to post up.

Rider15 - like what P.T.W. said: the shock, linkage, seat tube yoke (or "shock cage" if you prefer) were offset to the non-dirve side for a few reasons:

1. To facilitate set-up of the drivetrain.
2. To accomodate the drivetrain in that space on the bike.
3. (THIS is cool: ) To help balance the bike and counter-balance the drivetrain a bit. (as dw said when he designed it: "My brain was worky that day") :D

The only issue I had was getting the spacing correct on my chainguide between the boomerang/backplate and the frame but that's always something that needs to get sorted out anyway. Other than that - it was a breeze. Chainline is great, and there's plenty of room for my 06' SRS.

Looks awesome dude. Some wider and lower bars would probably set it right off.

How's it riding for ya? Did it take you longer to type this post or build the bike?:D
Thanks man! LoL - neither, but I DID work on both over the course of a few weeks. :D

Thanks Udi! I would like to go with wider bars, but I have a shoulder that bugs me from time to time, and will be getting it checked out shortly. Wider bars seem to aggravate it so until then I need to stick with the 710's. :hmm:
