January 6, 2007 -- Over 1000 people gathered in Nancy Pelosi's district, on Ocean Beach in San Francisco, to spell out the message "IMPEACH!" "America is a great country," said event organizer Brad Newsham, a local cab driver and author. "But President Bush has betrayed our faith. He mislead us into a disastrous war, and is trampling on our Constitution. He has to go. Now. I hope Nancy Pelosi is listening today."

I think it makes a strong point. Of course, if it happened Cheney would end up in office which could be far worse.

What do you think should be done about W and his anti-constiutional delusions?
You think 1000 californians standing on a beach makes a "strong point?"

You were there, werent you? :busted:

I don't like Bush but it would be a complete waste of time and accomplish nothing good.
Agreed, but whats the statute of limitations on some kind of legal action? I personally think it's wholeheartedly deserved for him and his cabinet, and would like to see it done as a gesture after they leave office and it wouldn't be so disruptive.

I'd like to see Bush learn something and make a few strong decisions before he goes out of office. I feel he is dumb, and easily persuaded by his "advisors" but I feel that he wants to do "the right thing" or whatever he beleives that is. Maybe Im still naieve for thinking that, but I dont buy that he's evil or whatever.

Could you imagine the smug surrounding that place?
It be too thick to breathe.

Those useless waste of cells should have volunteered for a soup kitchen or something. It takes a bunch of energy to organize something like that, they could have at least have done something worthwhile.

They could have spelled out "Shlong" or something afterward to at least make it funny.

They will just get pardoned by the next President.

Thank Gerald Ford for that one...

here's the thing... Bush is only breaking MORE of the SAME laws as he did from his first term.

Then he got re-elected. Right or wrong, America did speak, and they said it's ok for this PotUS to break whatever laws he wants, take whatever action he wants.

Tough.

You're right. People who manufacture certain products should have no political affiliation. And those things are never tested either. They just say "take our word for it" and its all gravy, and then the republicans win every time and people just say, "aw shucks" and its the end of the story.

When it comes to voting machines I feel comfortable arguing that the CEO of a company that makes them shouldn't be making partisan political statements.

I'd also prefer that the Boeing execs who are in charge of the space shuttle program not jerk off over shuttle explosions in their office in front of everyone...but I'm funny that way.

Yeah, I know a bunch of San Franciscians laying on the beach is not exactly Hands Across America.

In defense of SF war protestors, there has been regular gatherings and protests since the war started. As someone who has been strongly against the war from the first day, I can appreciate living in an area where people feel the same as I do.

While it might be different if Dallas or Omaha had regular protests, but the protests do have value in a constant reminder that are many people who are against the war.

...so basically a bunch of hippies with nothing better to do but go to the beach and get high while forming a big peace sign or impeach sign keeps us all straight. Good to know.

But if the folks in SF didn't have the war to protest they'd protest against animal testing. If they didn't have animal testing they'd protest over bringing back the Shamrock Shake. It is the culture out there.

"many people" in san francisco against the war is about as persuasive as the old Dell kid promoting the legalization of pot. The rest of the country just really doesn't care what the "all about me" city has to say and the general feeling around here leads some to idle their cars overnight to expedite global warming so that SF becomes the next atlantis even sooner.

You may not have noticed, but I believe in this case that the "many people" against the war in San Francisco are representative of the country as a whole.
