so what do we like?

I'm not a norton/mcafee fan because they SUCK your resources dry.

I'm using AVG at home with XP - no complaints.

oh - and I guess firewall of some type - I'm not worried at home but should I get one for traveling? Is zone alarm still industry standard?

Free - just have to register it after 60 days.

My recommendations would be the same as for XP. You can stick with AVG if you like it, or Avast is good as well.

I'm liking AVG on my Vista box. Going to be dropping Vista for XP soon though for completely different reasons.

I've been having some REAL good luck with TrendMicro internet security. I run an anti-spam software for my email separate from that package. Its a freeware antispam from trend micro, and it works awesome.

By using that, it frees up quite a bit of resources from disabling the anti-spam in the package. You can get the freeware anti-spam here.
