I've got some crazy female calling my house from a number that was originally registered to comcast in San Pedro, CA. My guess is that it's a cell phone or PBX, because my attempts to trace it have come up empty. When she's gotten my wife on the line, she asks for me and huffs and puffs if I'm not available. When I answer the phone, however, she just stays on the line listening to my "hello...anybody there?" The number shows up on my caller ID as 310-427-7499 but when I have called the number back, nobody picks up and the message box "is full". Now I've never even been to CA and certainly have had no opportunity to impregnate or wrong any women there! What gives?

Sounds like a similar situation we had, our old number must have been an escort service, or something similar. The weekends were a nightmare, calls at all hours of the night asking for hook-ups. It was real bad when my wife answered. I always wanted to lead them on when they called, never did though. Must be all the heat messin with Cali's phone lines

Our number is the old number to the Veterans Association Hospital in West LA. We get messages all the time for doctor so-and-so and 'my medication ran out.'

My 2 favorites so far were the woman who called to change the incision type for her boob job from the nipple to the belly button (no idea why they do that at the VA) and the dude that called to participate in the Paranoid Schizophrenia study. He called 4 or 5 times, each time more upset that we hadn't called back.

Call block. If it really bugs you - have the phone company block calls from that number. (Tell them you're being harrassed.)

It happened again 10 minutes ago- 310-427-7499.

If anyone can provide any help whatsoever on how I could trace the number and put to death its owner, I would be eternally grateful. I will not change my home number or dial the disturbed cvnt from my work or cell number for fear of providing a new avenue of annoyance. Call block is useless(and easily circumvented) and call trace is an utter waste of time spent dealing with bureaucratic do-nothings. Had I a spare line, I would just dial the number from my fax machine and put it on repeat for hours at a time come 5:00am EST when I rise for work. I think that it may be a certain psyc-ho obsessive admin that I fired from the Cerritos, CA office of a former client...but I have no way of verifying my suspicions. I would just pay a cyberPI to track her down had I any faith in their ability to deliver results greater than those obtainable from my local palmist/tarot madame. The thought of identifying the be-atch by name is positively delicious. I would levee upon her such a hateful tax of retribution that she would pray for deliverance!

If you dial the number, then hit * as the message plays you will be prompted to enter the VM password. Unfortunately they changed it from the default which is the last four of the number. I tried a few more common ones, but nothing worked for me.

If you can get in there, you might be able to find out who this chick is.

Some drunk love sick stalker starting sending me all these strange text messages at 2:00 a.m. once. I sent him back a message saying that I was a guy and he had the wrong number. He kept sending me these messages, asking "how I could do this to him, etc." I send him at least two more messages saying that he had the wrong number, but he didn't buy it. So I finally send him back a text message saying that I was cheating on him and that I found someone better, and then I shut my phone off.
