you guys think it would be good to make bike stuff [shin/arm pads] out of this stuff. It remains flexible but stiffens on impact.

search. It has been discussed. That would be great for initial impact, but you need flexibility in your armour as you rag doll. IT's great for skiing because gates are just impact and gone. Bad for DH, which is impact them tumble, roll, bounce, tumble, tree, rock, bounce, ouch.

If it responds that fast to respond to an impact anyway, then the ragdoll would still be OK. It would go flexy and re-harden on each individual impact of the ragdoll.

how much pressure has to be applied over what surface area inorder for it to become solid? might be good for shoe soles... .walking around they are comfy, but when you jump off a 5 ft drop the impact of the sole to the pedal makes the sole stiffen providing a platform?... maybe thats way to out there...
