anyone make a steel 12mm thruaxle?

ive seen steel thru axles come stock with several generic taiwan hubs, novatec, gusset, kore, etc, etc.
theyre normally just a plain axle with nuts on both sides

the guy in the picture has also been known to produce such axles, although on the picture he is showing a shock rebound adjuster knob he just made by grafting a bronze end piece to the original alloy adjuster part.

Easy enough to make an axle. I run one I zipped up.
12mm barstock, step the ends down to 10mm, and then thread them.
Talk to somebody at a machine shop.

i am capable of doing that. but WHY? if i can buy one.

anything can be made but its not worth my time.

I made one my self from a bike kickstand, i had to sand it down a little bit then it fitted like a glove. Ill cutted it so it was like 5 mm shorter than framewidth then i drilled 6 mm holes in each end, made M7 threads and then just thow in the M7 bolts with blue locktite.

It still kicks ass...

Why can't you just use a M12 x 200mm Bolt secured with a nut?
