The broken Ellsworth thread got me to thinkin' - seems folks 'round here own or have owned *lots* of bikes in their "careers."

Mine:

Giant ATX-760: '92-'96
Trek Y22: '96-'03
Giant NRS: '03-present

In that time I've only owned 3 suspension forks (RS Judy p.o.s, Zoke Z2 Bomber, RS Psylo) and 3 rear shocks (Fox Alps4, CC AD-10, RS SID).

Any other non-gear whores around?

I've been riding the same 1997 Voodoo, since 1999. I thought it was a goner 2 years ago due to an ovalizing headtube, but King hooked me up with an oversized headset cup.

I picked up a Supergo frame in '02 for commuter/SS duties

I got a freebie '99 Specialized FSR that is beat to hell and has sat in the basement since August waiting for some love.

I'm going on year five of my MTB life and I am on bike #2. Bike #1 is still in use though. Bike 1 (Rocky Mountain Spice) is for smooth XC and racing, and bike 2 (Quasi Moto) is the beat-the-hell-out-it bike.

I don't see myself replacing either of them anytime soon, nor do I see myself adding to the stable.

Well, I borrowed Sq-Earl's old Diamondback hardtail for a couple of rides (too big & too heavy for me). Then I began purchasing:

late '90s Trek 850 hardtail (actually bought that from Echo's sister)
'02(?) Jekyll 700 Ltd (got from a fellow ) that was warrantied last summer for a 2004 Jekyll 1000 (new rear shock too )
'02 K2 Disco Monkey (bought used)
'03 Ironhorse SGS DH Pro (bought from Instigator)

As for forks, I went from rigid on the trek to a RockShock Quadra 10 then to a Judy XL and all of the other ones are stock--Jekyll has the Ti Lefty and I just had that rebuilt; K2 has a Psylo Race and I have replaced the seals (West Mtn. killed it). I guess I have never owned a brand new bike
