More often than not Monsters are overkill for intermediate dh runs, and well....Super Monster's are overkill for all but bender.
This has the begginings of a MTBR thread. They are overkill for him as well. The new monster is retarded if you can get your hands on a pre 03' one do it up! I rode for a while and loved the thing. Get these silly thoughts of validating a supermonster out of your head.

I know, I meant to put a  thing in afterwards but forgot. lol. yes, the pre-03s are nice, even if you get a 03/04 once you get used to the weight its a sweet fork (i used to own a 03, now I have a 02 shiver)

Well just to reinforce what everyone above me has said and what everyone below me will say, yes, super monsters are overkill for pretty much everything. They do give your bike a nice choppered look though.

Yeah they would. My prediction is this thread will turn into the ultimate postwhoring thread because every member of ridemonkey can chime in about how bad super monsters are, etc, etc, etc.

You got it, i guess i am pretty guilty myself. Its hard to resist, but the supers are very taboo on this board since most of us actually ride...

They can also chime in about completely unrelated subjects, like predictions about where a thread will turn... :D

The funniest thing is not even the fork, but the tittle...

Intermediate DH Run and Super Monster T in the same sentence...

At least if it would have been:

Crazy stoopid steep wacked DH runs and mega dumb drops!!

Maybe...

Naaaa

Super Monster are stoopid!

+1 post count!

Super monsters are the bombdizzle, I have one on my BMX and its smooth as buttah.
I wanted to slack out my XC bike a little so I replaced the damping cartridges in my Super Monster with steel rods...

Yeah if they made a ridgid super monster I would be on it like white on rice. Exactly what my dj bike needs.
yeah 13" and 987 * 10^3 lbs of pure pain. prob flexy. but for intermediate usage it should do fine. just dont freeride it...

I wonder if the Super Monster would be a fun fork to have on a custom chopper just for cruising around, besides the fact that it's heavy as hell, it'd be interesting to see if it'd work.

My buddy's slider+ broke, wont compress, it essentially turned into a huge rigid chopper, it was great. Riding around all slack up hills is kinda fun.

And yeah, postcount+1 (I need it though, you postwhores) ;)

Norco has a chopper bike with a 888 on it, it looked funny.
All pimped out parts, CK parts, huge black leather seat (half banana style) and a 888 up front. it rode like butta :)

Get the Fox 36 instead. The super monster is super-flexy. The 36 isn't. Or get a marzocchi 66 they're faster than super monsters.

Super Monsters are best used for commuting... After all, how do expect to survive the rigors of the bike path with anything less than 12in of travel?

Man, im still getting over the fact that the super monster was not a joke in the first place, lol.

Ive seen a few of em on the trails.. kind of funny to see a bike rolling along with a 50 degrees HA. I think it would be sorta fun to have for a few days though..
