After taking a good look into Trek's new Session 88 DH and what all they went through to revise it to what it is today. It really opended my mind up to what companys with as much revenue such as trek can really do. So why are other companys not doing the same?

It seems like all the cool bikes coming out are from small businesses. Morewood, orange, Evil and others take massave pride in there bikes, but do it on much smaller revenue coming in every year.

Is it that DH is the gray hair on the baby's bottom, or is it something else?

Lets discuss!

Evil bikes or others have dedicated DH bikes with less than dozen bike models, obviously they're going to focus on DH bikes more than Trek, or other big companies would, where they generate more revenue from crosscountry/road/allmountain bikes alot more than DH bikes. DH is still a small market compare to road.

They make more on there high end road bikes with parts they have made then on a bike where they have to buy shocks and breaks from other vendors. Look at them and Specialed and you well see they have there own carbon forks bars stems cranks wheels tires seat seat post and the bike is still 7grand.
Funny if you look at it that whay.
