So, I've been kinda of unhappy with the performance of my fox float 36 that is lowered to 150mm. Today I was thinking I would swap shuttle bumpers back to 160mm just to see if it would behave the same and started looking at measurements to see what it would do to the geometry.

The published axle to crown at 160mm is 545mm. So, lowered it should be ~535mm. But, it's measuring ~555mm.....

Anyone know what might cause this weirdness?

Just an update for general knowledge.

I had the shop open up the fork last night. When they opened up the bottom of the right leg (under the damper) pressure released and sprayed oil everywhere. For whatever reason there was pressure built up underneath the cartridge. Never heard of it before, but the fork feels an awful lot better now.

sometimes happens. on my old shiver i'd get the same thing, there was actually a bleed screw on the top cap of each stanchion to release air pressure.
