When I slipped a disc, I was lucky enough that the disc didn't rupture so this therapy worked great. I felt 60% improvement after the first session and I feel almost 100% months after completing the therapy.

anyone else get good/bad results from this proceedure?

hehe, epidural makes my tongue taste green

I'm good now. The doc said that if the disc ruptured then the therapy would make things worse. After seeing the near instant improvement with me, my dad signed up for 5 sessions. He's been doing auto body work for 40 years and his back is a giant knot. Had his first session last night and he said he feels 20 years younger and woke up without any back pain for the first time in more than 10 years.

Even though I'm good, I may sign up for 1 sesh every month once money gets better. My back gets pretty tweaked working on these little import cars 12hrs a day.

I thought I had a slipped disk (on July 4th) and had some physical therapy and even an MRI... everything showed clear. Now, 5 months later, I still have horrible pain, but not sure it is a disk issue any more. Its around L6 and feels like a marble-sized pain center right on top of the vertebrae. I cant flex or extend without risk of aggravating it horribly. I feel like I'm stuck in a cage and cant move very well or exercise. I'm going back to the orthopedic specialist this week but I am getting very very frustrated... :(

T6? there is no "L6" unless you have a lumbarized S1.

The reason you all have back pain is because you don't do any trail work.:monkey:

Me i have a trashed back, and i do core exercises everyday, and have done them for years and years.

Also investing in a nice firm bed helps.

Sherm, your a big guy like me. Best thing you can do for your back is simple. The decompression tables help a bit, but seriously, every two hours, drop and do 20 push ups, and 20 sit ups. in the morning wake up and do 30 each, and at night do as many as you can

:( I had a bout with bad back pain at the end of the summer too and I thought I might have slipped a disc. Had a couple of Drs. take a look at it and X-rays/MRI came back clear. Next step was PT or a Chiro and I elected to try a Chiro in our area that is a sports medicine specialist and he figured out that my sacroiliac joint was out of place. We did a few adjustments, I had to wear a brace for about 5 days and I have a whole routine of exercises to strengthen the muscles around that area to keep it in place. After a few visits I was feeling 80% and now I am 100%!

I have a similar problem, but I have a belt I used to wear that helped to relieve pressure.

Combo of chiropractic and acupuncture worked wonders. I have to make appointments today because I've slacked and ended up hurting myself last weekend.

Yeah, I had the belt and it helped a lot too! I have it at home still for flare-ups, but I've been good about doing my exercises and more conscious about my standing postures so I have been lucky thus far.
