The fifth round of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, held this past weekend at the Budds Creek National in Mechanicsville, Md., was a shining moment for the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team. Blake Baggett earned his second overall victory of the season and leads the 250 class by 13 points, Broc Tickle finished a career-best second-overall in the 450 class and is now sixth overall in 450 point standings, and Ivan Tedesco held on to his top-ten spot in 250 point standings despite a crash at the start of the second moto.

Baggett Earns His Second Win of the Season

Victory was on Baggett’s radar at Budds Creek, and it seemed as if nothing was going to stop him in that endeavor. Never one to succumb to a bad start, he put on his signature charge in moto one and rallied from the back of the pack all the way up to second. He again made his way up to the second-place spot in moto two, and overcame a nine-second deficit to make the pass for the lead and pull away with the win. The 2-1 finish gave him the overall and he currently sits 13 points ahead of second-place in 250 point standings.

Tickle Hauls and Earns a Career-Best Second Overall

Tickle got a taste of the 450 podium two weeks ago at Thunder Valley and has been on the hunt for seconds ever since. His hard work paid off at Budds Creek in the form of a 2-2 finish, giving him second overall on the day. He now sits sixth overall in 450 point standings, and is inching his way up the ladder as each round passes.

Tedesco Pushes Through

Tedesco had a tough weekend. After an eighth-place finish in moto one, a crash at the start of the second moto caused a DNF. He finished 14th at Budds Creek, but is still top-ten overall and is currently ninth in 250 point standings.
