Currently using Stella Azzurra Eleganza, which seems good so far. Favorite is probably the standard Fizik microtex tape; tried the Fizik Dual Tape, which had some positives and negatives. Not a big fan of regular cork tape.

Honestly, the best tape I've ever had on my bikes was the older Colnago tape. I had it in both black and white, The new stuff changed, it just isn't as good. It was just thick enough, grippy, everything. I see some NOS stuff on eBay actually, but I don't want to pay $15/pack for it.

I've been using Cinelli cork on the last couple of builds, the "old standby," but it works for me.
I don't like the feel of some of the newer stuff, but that's just me.

Cinelli Carbo Tape. I use a non-black color, so it holds up without having to replace perfectly good tape every 3 months.

I use the Sram supertech tape, which is essentially the same as the Cinelli tap that Sanjuro uses. It's cheaper than all the other options people are using here, and it has decent grip in the wet and is about as thin as tape can be to do a little bit of damping.

I'm not a fan, but besides me, I don't know anyone who has used the LizardSkins tape and not loved it. Be carefull though, the tensile strength of that tape is pretty low, and I have ripped it a few times wrapping with my usual vigor.

I agree with the tensile strength of the lizardskins tape tore a roll of it just when I originally tried the stuff. Also today, I just noticed on the 930 that the tape is separating from the adhesive.

as a pro wrench i wrap a lot of bar daily here aremy preferences
deda rich colors a bit wider then most and thick and luxurious
stella see above
silva another great euro tape
sram great stuff thinner then the above and a great price too
non gel bontrager cheap and easy to get

any tape that come with a self adhesive i remove it as it just makes for a mess later
if you want your tape to stick better use some cohesive bandage ( new age replacement for ace) it is self stick and will hold tape if you are a death hands rider it is good for cross season for a bit more cushion

do not spend to much money on tap as you need to replace it every 3 months or sooner
you should be changing cables and housing every 3k just cables every 1k (shift)
