Best downhill/trail fork for my 06 norco one25

hey people im lookin into getting a fork with more travel so i can race downhill hardtail division, any recommendations would be great thanks

And it'll create flop. I think a 5-6" fork would probably be good. Pikes don't seem to be burly enough for DH, they're better for trails and DJs IMO.

The best 5" fork I have ever ridden is the Fox Vannilla. I think that would be an excellent choice for you. Not too heavy and oh so plush.

I got some ride time in today on my new Z1 Sport (on my hardtail). I would get one if I was you. Lighter and less $$$ than a 66, and also less stiff than a 66 (but if you want a fork that will not flex much, look at dual crown ones). I think 6" of travel is the sweet spot for DH hardtails, 5" is not quite enough but if you are using 7" you are probably going to get bucked off of the bike. Jenson has new ones going for like $420.
