They cant make enough money in 5 days. What if it rains or the lightening is bad those 5 days. What a waste of great terrain.

Well they are only open for their freeride festival thing. I suppose that could be marginally lucrative. They just need to take a hint from the other ski resorts and start selling 10 dollar cheeseburgers, 6 dollar slices of pizza, and 47 dollar domestic beers. Then the dough would come rolling in.

Bottom line:

It's expensive to run a lift. Liability insurance is expensive.

Silverton is a f*ck long ways from anywhere.

I'm actually surprised they're able to make the winter thing work.
