What's the deal with this riding venue? I was thinking of a trip out there soon, but was told by a buddy that the "shuttle" is $5 per run. For runs that won't be super long, I'm not so sure that it's worth it. On the other hand, with Whistler's riding season months away, I'm dying here. It's either Bootleg, or a looong drive to Oregon...

Yeah the shuttle is a bit steep but if i recall right they do offer a all day price.
Its better 2 shuttle yourself cuz besides saving the shuttle fee you don't have to wait around for the truck .
Its a fun place for sure

if you have a truck, you can shuttle yourself. The road can be a bit rough but it's no problem. I have also paid one fee for all day on the shuttle when I was by myself.

However, the best shuttling I have ever had out there was with Brent. He had his 20ish year old girl friend driving. RIP

$5 a ride..that is spendy. It's close enough to Vegas that you could always rent a limo for the day as well as an "Escort". It would make the shuttle part far more enjoyable.


Be prepared to hike another 5 min to the top from the shuttle drop off...fun riding though.

Good riding and its pretty technical stuff.

There is plenty ways to stretch your ride out too. A few of the trails end in the jump/stunt park at the bottom. from there you can do another 1/2 to1 mile of singletrack that goes further down. Not as DH but still fun. The truck picks you up at different points.

Just look at it this way. a resort will cost you atleast 30-35 bucks. After 6-7 rides at bootleg you will probably be wasted. Its a really physically demanding place.

I have read that they don't offer an all day shuttle pass anymore. I guess the shuttle truck is famous for breaking down and people may have only gotten a few rides in. They had people wanting a full refund even though they had taken a few laps already. To fix the problem they said 5 bucks a ride and if it breaks down you get your 5 bucks back.

If you do go ride there bring every piece of armor you own and definately run 2 ply's with heavy tubes. The place is very sharp and unforgiving.

I hopped in a truck w/ a guy who was drinking and we shuttled to the top with another guy... its a good time out there for sure.
