sorry for the stupid qeustion but what size is my 02 big hit Dh bb? I know it's 73mm but i don't know the spindle length. Does anyone know, or can tell me how i could measure it?

The simplest way is to take the crank arms off and measure it with calipers. It is probably around 118 or 123mm.

Take your BB out of the frame and it will say right on it in the middle of the shell what the spindle width is.

Spindle Length is usually determined by the crank manufacturer based on the offset from the center their cranks are. Most Bikes run 113 but being a dh bike it might be 118

The 2002 comp ran "TruVativ ISIS, spline, 73x125mm"...the 2003 comp ran a..."Truvativ ISIS DH, 73mm shell width, 118mm spindle length, E-Type" . The 2002 Bighit DH is the same frame as the comp for 2002 and 2003, less the linkage.

I've run both a 118mm and a 123mm with no problems with chainlines...of course, I use a chainguide up front.
