Can I use my old 7" springs in my 8" Boxxer or not?

No. The 06 springs are longer, the earlier 7" springs would probably bind before reaching full travel.

Yes, you can use your 7" spring, but you will only get 7" of travel. You can either cut a spring perch to fit, or push down the damper side the proper amount to preload the spring when you tighten the crown back up. I ran a team with a 7" spring and a spacer to have the increased axle-crown while still being able to run less sag for a few weeks when I was playing with the new boxxers this past spring.
