Moral is: sucks for max. On the other hand, Neither of them have much chance of winning (or placing well even), and for the USAC to make the decision based on who they think will perform better in the long run seems reasonable. Neither of them have had much success on the world cup scene, and this was probably much less of a difficult problem than having to cut Lord Bummer.

They should just decide the world's team by selecting straws.
