So I have my C50 built up with DA7800 right now. I had a gently-used Record 10 kit fall into my hands though, and I'm debating about putting that on there instead. I need to order a crank and cassette though, and at that point, do I just nut up for full Record 11, and sell off the 10 to pay for it?
Probably wouldn't be out more than the cost of the cranks, and might even break even. I know people bag on the 11spd stuff, but I dig it, and I prefer the new hoods (sacrilege!) to the older 10spd ones.

Seems like the Italian bike should have Italian parts, right?
Anyway, the DA parts are coming off either way, they're destined for another frame, I'm just not sure re:10/11...

I have several "non-Felts," mostly old Giants from my past, but a couple of others, an S-Works frame, a Seven, etc.
That said, I have more Felts than anything else right now, as that's the name on my paycheck.
And there is no way I'm ever giving up my C50, this is the one bike I know I'll always own.

So did Milram, but Mr. Colnago was not happy about it, as he put it, Shimano pulled up a "dumptruck full of money" for that to happen. He much prefers Campy I think.

Getting pricing on 11spd now. Anybody want to buy a low-miles R10 group?

I tend to like a bunch of Colnago paint jobs, but some I could do without. This is the same as the ST01, just with a white base instead of 3K weave. It was my favorite color that year.

The frame was pretty expensive, even at landed cost, when I bought it while working for the Colnago distributor. The high Euro/low Dollar had a lot to do with that though. I feel it was worth every penny to me, but if I'd had to pay retail, or even wholesale, I doubt I could have swung it on my meager bike biz salary.

I vote for SRAM Red, but anything other than Shimano would be an improvement. I've never used any Campy stuff, and Shimano has never served me wrong, I just hate the cables coming out of the side of the shifters, and I think Di2 is simply retarded.

I've not ridden a Di2 bike yet. My friend did, and said it was sweet, but I can't see any reason to bring electronics into a simple mechanical function that has worked forever. The fact that it still has wires is just dumb with everything being wireless these days. I heard there is a new wireless version on the way though.

I guess if you prefer Shimano over Red, then I suppose Campy is okay. For simplicity I would just put on the 10 speed stuff that fell into your hands. Unless you really like the new hoods that well.

You can change the way you shift. Under power? Sure. Standing? Yup. Climbing out of the saddle, and into the big ring? Yup.
Felt has a ton of models with Di2 for 2011, and I intend to get myself one.

I really do like the new hood a lot, but it's also partially because I don't really like the old hoods. We'll see, I'm waiting for pricing on Record from Campy...

i never felt you needed to keep italian parts on an italian frame. you use what you like, at least thats what i do. if anything i'd spend the money on a new paint job. i liked those Saroni paint jobs, but it would look better with chromed lugs. the red and chrome together look awesome.

but getting back to the parts problem. if getting campy 11 speed wont cost you so much then it looks to be a no brainer.

FTS. Di2 for that Colnago. Go big or go home. Isn't Shimano just down the road? Hell, buy that Di2 equipped Felt for super cheap, put the Di2 stuff on the Colnago, put the Campy onto the Felt and sell the Felt.

I gotta agree with this guy though.

Yeah, it's a big change for Shimano. New Ultegra too. But if you run the new levers, you need to run the new brakes, and I think at least the front derailleur as they changed the ratio/size. Kind of lame, but they do that every few years, like when the OLD DA was incompatible with any other gruppo. Shimano has a chart on their site on compatibility.
I have some 7900 that's gonna go on a Felt F1 frame I got leftover from the Garmin team, just waiting for the bar/stem to come in.

The 7800 on this bike is actually going to be repurposed onto my new wet bike, I'm kind of loathe to part with any Dura Ace stuff as I'm too cheap to buy any new stuff...
I don't know when Di2 is going to go wireless, they have some real battery issues to worry about then, but at some point I'm sure. They'll probably work on battery size first. I think we'll see the pros getting a super-small "race" battery for weight savings, as they don't really need to go a month between charges.

I'm leaning towards 11spd...
