I am looking to buy a used bike, over the internet, from Canada. Living in the US, what issues should I be concerned about?


Customs, shipping, currency conversion,......or? Any horror stories would be appreciated.

Buying from Canada to the US should be a cake walk. I'm not sure on the Tax or Customs implications, or if you'll have to pay GST(which is sometimes charged at the border, regardless of if it is used goods.)

I bought a bike once from a guy in Rochester, and had it shipped to Alberta, Canada. My only issue was the wait time at the border crossing for Customs to verify the package, took around 4 days at Customs.
