Seriously, why not do something useful with them?yep I have seen it down in SD.... I think it's great...with the amount of tracks in So Cal there really is no reason to street race...although I would be more into law enforcement parting the cars out and using the money to help fund more enforcement...but that would never happen....D

Because nothing is lamer than a front wheel burnout. Check out some of the "pursuit" cars in SoCal. Many have Vette's and other sweet rides from drug dealers, no need for Hondas.Seriously, why not do something useful with them?
Turn them into police cars...
Not just a pursuit car...government agencies, education, social services, et al. Just seems downright wasteful and indicative of the state our culture and society at large if we can willy-nilly crush cars that cost thousands upon thousands of dollars in order to teach a bunch of retarded teens and twenty-somethings a "lesson". There has to be a better way.

Yes, that's just you. A Honda might do well in a straight line, but don't try to punch it out of a corner. Not just a pursuit car...government agencies, education, social services, et al. That said, I think a well built Honda/what have you would make a hell of a lot better pursuit car than a pre-current gen Corvette, but that's just me
Nothing pursues like the Okie boyz new toys:Yes, that's just you. A Honda might do well in a straight line, but don't try to punch it out of a corner.
Wow, that's insane. I thought the BMW's we have here were ridiculous.Nothing pursues like the Okie boyz new toys:

I'll also say that a well done Honda is way easier to handle and faster in, say, an urban environment than any Corvette or Camaro I've ever played with. However, for a highway chase, I'll take the 'vette.
Exactly. Older Corvettes and any other American muscle car would make terrible pursuit cars owing to their awful handling characteristics.I'll also say that a well done Honda is way easier to handle and faster in, say, an urban environment than any Corvette or Camaro I've ever played with. But an e30 is also rear wheel drive, unlike a Honda Civic or Acura Integra. A stock 350z will smoke a supped Honda on a street course too. Civics are a waste of money.Exactly. Please see on Youtube: e30 BMW M3 wasting a cop pursuing in a Camaro.
Back to the merits of the thread...
The point is that cars aren't illegal like confiscated drugs are...I think it's flat out stupid and wasteful, but hey...
Civics aren't a waste of money. Trying to turn a grocery getter into a "sports" car is a waste of money. Crush 'em all.Civics are a waste of money.
lol...quite a differnece between a 2500 lb vehicle and weed. All crushing them does is waste a ton of parts that can be used or recycled for other cars...and why all the Honda hate? They are an awesome car company...DYes, that's just you. A Honda might do well in a straight line, but don't try to punch it out of a corner.
Is it any more wasteful than burning confiscated weed when you could use it for medicinal patients? Crushing a supped up Honda rolling stolen parts is fine with me. Just because you put thousands of dollars into it, doesn't make them worth thousands of dollars either.
My guess is you could turn it into soup cans and use those to feed the homeless.
now you're just talking out of your ass...it all depends on who driving, what cars mods are done, and a slew of other factors...DBut an e30 is also rear wheel drive, unlike a Honda Civic or Acura Integra. A stock 350z will smoke a supped Honda on a street course too. Civics are a waste of money.
yeah I see alot more Hyundai Tibs fixed up nowdays than ever before...the high price of aquiring geniune Honda performance parts are driving folks to other manufacturers...DAs the Civics get more spendy, the Hyundai Accents are becoming the car of choice for the pain in the ass teenagers......
Unless the mod you do is convert the Civic to rwd, it will still suck as a "sports" car. A turbo Civic with NOS may go fast in a straight line, but it still won't take corners.now you're just talking out of your ass...it all depends on who driving, what cars mods are done, and a slew of other factors...D
Jimmy really...do some research...FWD cars can be just as "sporty" and manueverable as any other drivetrain platform...they just have to be driven with specific techniques. I'm speaking from actual expereince having raced FWD, RWD, MR and 4WD platforms.Unless the mod you do is convert the Civic to rwd, it will still suck as a "sports" car. As for recycling the parts, I think the idea is to keep them out of the hands of street racers. So who would buy a used turbo setup for a Civic other than another street racer(90% probability)?
I don't hate Honda Civics, they are great cars. I just find it funny that people will spend $10k on mods when you can buy a used twin turbo 300zx (as an example) for half that price and you are ahead of the game out of the box.
oh I meant more like hoods, bumpers, wheels, lights etc....not so much the performance parts....DAs for recycling the parts, I think the idea is to keep them out of the hands of street racers. So who would buy a used turbo setup for a Civic other than another street racer(90% probability)?
Unlike a live-axle camaro with it's gumby-like steering?but it still won't take corners.
Does ford/cosworth count?Anyone know what the last US car to win an F1 race was?
Nah. Firstly I meant chassis rather than engine and secondly the Ford Cosworth engine was built in Northamptonshire and very few F1 versions ever made it to the US.Does ford/cosworth count?
How about Honda?Nah. Firstly I meant chassis rather than engine and secondly the Ford Cosworth engine was built in Northamptonshire and very few F1 versions ever made it to the US.
Good effort though.
You'll need to elaborate substantially if you wish me to consider a Japanese company qualifying as a US winner. How about Honda?
When was the last time an F1 race was won by a FWD Civic?Anyone know what the last US car to win an F1 race was?
Blimey, lighten up....When was the last time an F1 race was won by a FWD Civic?
When was the last time a rally was won by an F1 car? Different cars for different purposes, but in the case of American "muscle", there is no purpose, only dick-swinging...When was the last time an F1 race was won by a FWD Civic?
Agreed and agreed.Different cars for different purposes, but in the case of American "muscle", there is no purpose, only dick-swinging...
yeah I pretty much watch all forms of auto racing except Nascar..I wonder how the Camry is doing...do you follow it at all?...DAgreed and agreed.
I guess once Toyota starts detroying NASCAR we'll start to see some innovation in American cars?
I've done plenty of research. I have also driven a lot of cars. My CRX was "sporty", but it was far from a sports car. How many FWD cars are on the Top Gear list?Jimmy really...do some research...FWD cars can be just as "sporty" and manueverable as any other drivetrain platform...they just have to be driven with specific techniques. Currently there are 2 FWD cars that are in the top 10 fastest time for the annual buttonwillow street tuner series...D

I guess my idea of performance is different than yours.
