Susan could here at normal volume(and I'm guessing the dogs too) but I can only here it at max volume.

like tenchiro said, a lot of speakers will have tons of fall-off in the upper freqency ranges so don't take the "results" too seriously .

I'm 31 and didn't hear squat, but I definitely don't trust the cheapie speakers on my laptop.
