can you use an XT 12-sp cassette with a SRAM drivetrain?

My research has shown that you can. The only funny thing are Shimano chainrings - so if you don't have one, you're good.

I too went the long route of swapping to a microspline driver, because paying for $300 GX cassettes is no good. I'm also not onboard with paying +$600 for XO cassette, even if it lasts longer.

I traded a set of dt x1900 wheels for one of my extra X0 cassettes.

Not sure who got the better part of that deal.

Can generally find X0 Eagle cassettes for ~$250, which yes is still too much and a chunk more than XT. But much better than retail and I think the X0's are supposed to last a bunch longer?

e.g. this place will accept an offer of $240

Why on earth would you do that? The magic in the XT shifting is the combo of the cassette and chain. I would also run a shimano chain, and just use an Eagle masterlink, that is the only thing that can be a little funky with a nog HG+ chainring.
You will thank me.
