It rained on the hawk-o-ween parade today. Not quite a repeat of the august show but it was pretty wet. We had a good crew and everyone had a blast despite conditions.Just checked the site and it says the following:
Next Race is Nov. 1st
CANCELED...due to weather and trail conditions
One more try folks, Dec. 6th
After all the other DH events this year held in the worst conditions
There are some folks getting SOFA going again, not as a chapter but, as a club to support existing chapters. Officers were appointed last week. Spoke to PK the co, and that is a priority for next year. And EMBA have given the green light to hold events for next year.Just checked the site and it says the following:

Are you kidding? After all the other DH events this year held in the worst conditions
a sprinkle is going to cancel this one? Looks like they just want an excuse to cancel/.
especially after reading the previous post.
Cool let's build some better trails! I would assume they would still let usThere are some folks getting SOFA going again, not as a chapter but, as a club to support existing chapters. Agreed! Let's just make sure we build natural features this time so it can be raced wet. I'm down to get out there this winter and build on any Saturday. We need to have something in Georgia that's a legitimate downhill race course whether it's at Carter's or somewhere else. I think that having sofa around will help a lot because most of the GA riders(outside of Big Creek area) are pretty spread out.Cool let's build some better trails! go do it then. Carter's is all set.I'm not trying to say Carter's isn't a great place to ride. I love riding there but I'd call it more of a freeride trail than a downhill course. That type of trail gets way more messed up from wet weather riding than a more natural course. I would have to disagree with you about that being the best that we'll be able to do in GA. Most of the NC courses drop less than 1000 feet and there are plenty of places in GA that drop in that range, but access needs to be gained and trails need to be built.
