I have a 2004 Specialized Big Hit, it has the 24 inch rear wheel, and right now it has 22/32 on the chainrings up front. Can I swap them out for a 24/36 setup and still have it shift alright. I would like to do this to make up for the gear difference you feel with the smaller rear wheel. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

I don't see why you couldn't. It won't effect the chainline, so therefore shouldn't have any effect on shifting performance. You should check your chain length though, in case it ends up too short. I ran a 24/36 setup on my Yeti 575 for a while with no issues.

It has an e-type (BB mount) front derailleur, and it originally came with a full triple ring set up, so I am hoping the derailleur should be alright.
