Hey,
I was wondering if chainrings for shimano cranksets would be able to be fit on say, a truvative crankset and vice versa. See, my predicament is that im getting a proper ss kit (sick of chain skipping and strange noises) and it only comes in 16 or 18t models, and i run a 32-14 ratio and love it, so my only option (cannot afford different ss kit and i already have it on order) is to get the chainring of my shimano crankset, which i think is 36 tooth, and put it on. Oh, and they are both middle chainring type fittings. Also, do Da-Bomb singlespeed kits have a 14t cog option? if anybody knows of one, then it solves this whole problem.

i just bought a gusset ss kit ($20 new found one for $10 shipped online), can come with a 16t or 18t. You can always find an old casset and take rings off that and experiment.
