Look into rooms in Trukee. The Best Western is a good bet but I haven't been there in a few years so I don't remember the rate. Anything in N* will be pretty pricey.

This should be the cheapest around.
Just bring a few cables/locks for your bikes.

Tahoe Inn in Kings Beach. Cheapest around that I found.
The hostel can be pretty gnarly. Then again it's been a long time since I've been in there.
Yeah Truckee is what I am thinking. The lifts are close enough why would you want to stay right there?
I have to drive 8hrs to get there from LA so I don't care about a 15 minute drive each morning.
I've passed out a few times at the hostel when I used to work at Squaw.

what this guy said. $30 rooms with a balcony. Dogs are all good there too if its of concern.

Im thinking about taking a trip up there in August. I work for expedia so i can use my discounts on up to 6 rooms. If your interested in going in august let me know and we can go that route. I have a nice truck that could hold all the bikes and is extended cab. Just PM me if your interested in working out plans. My vacation and the time i would want to go is any days August 16-22
