I've decided that I want to buy a 24" dj/park bike because I think I'd like it better then my current 26" hardtail.

This is not going to be my main bike and being a 15 yr old without a job I don't have that much money to spend.
I was looking at either a Mirraco icon http://www.mirrabikeco.com/bikes/icon_20forty.htm
or a Haro backtrail x24. http://www.harobikes.com/bmx/bikes/backtrail_x24.php
, both of which are about $300 (I think)

what do you guys think?

also, would it be possible to put a short travel fork on either of these frames, or would it mess up the geo too much?

Personally, I don't see the point in getting a 24" bmx cruiser to be a street/park bike unless you really just feel like a 20" is too small for you. Even if you have had small 20" setups in the past, you can make it feel bigger with a longer frame and nice big 8.25" tall bars.

For me the only reason to go to a 24" street/park bike is the suspension.

Also, I noticed that my DK General Lee cruiser bottom bracket is super close to the coping during double peg grinds. The crank arm bolt will actually hit the coping. The problem is that bottom brackets are more in line with where the axles are on a 24" whereas on a 20", the bb is going to be a couple inches above the level of your axles. Other cruisers might provide a little more clearance.

I was thinking about selling my 24" Specialized P Street, but now i think i might get a new fork and keep it... we can talk though.

well this isn't going to be solely street/park, it will probably be used more for dirt jumping and possibly some light trail riding.
basically just looking for an all-around hardtail thats more comfortable then a bmx, but smaller and more "flickable" then a 26" hardtail.

Jack Frost when do you want the bike by. If you can wate for x-miss that would get you more money to work with. Or you can go used there is a lot of good parts for sale on here.

not sure if a 24" cruiser is what you are looking for. for DJ i can see one performing well, but for park or street use the longggg stays will hold you back. i couldn't find the geo on the Mirraco but the Haro had 15.9" stays..which is longer then many 26" Frames. So it depends on what you want, for DJ/trail use sure, but park/street probably not. i don't know how much more flickable one of these will be.

The other problem with these cruisers is that you will probably get what you pay for unfortunately. You'll probably end up needing to replace certain parts after little abuse, that's usually how it goes from my experience. you should also check out the subrosa 24" line up before you buy one of these.
